The first day or so it is acceptable to not apply any lotion to the tattoo after washing. The tattoo should not be allowed to dry out, but the lotion should not sting when applied either. *

- When you feel the skin is ready, apply a thin layer of lotion after you wash your tattoo, and after it has had a few minutes to air dry. Putting lotion onto wet skin can trap excess moisture under the skin and cause more severe scabbing. DO NOT apply any Neosporin, Vaseline, Alcohol, Peroxide, or any other over the counter ointment or medication as they can cause irritations, prevents the tattoo from getting oxygen, and they have risks of allergic reactions, especially with extended use. Use plain white water-based lotion, free of scents, colors, oils, aloe, and oats.

- Wash and lotion your tattoo several times daily, and after every activity which may cause sweat or dirt to enter it. Keeping it clean is the most important thing you can do for your tattoo.

- Do not casually touch your tattoo or let anyone else touch it while it is healing.

- Avoid sun and tanning beds, especially with a fresh tattoo. The ultraviolet rays will fade your new tattoo. Always wear a high – S.P.F. sunscreen over your HEALED tattoo. *tip* The sun and tanning beds age the skin by shortening the time in-between cell regeneration. To keep your tattoo looking fresh longer, always cover your tattoo in the sun or in the tanning bed.

- Do not soak your new tattoo while it is healing. Avoid swimming, including hot tubs, baths, pools, fresh and salt water until the skin is healed.
