1.Because of the possibility of contracting diseases, particularly Hepatitis. The fetus secretes a hormone to keep the mothers immune system from rejecting it. That can make the mother more susceptable to infection by disease causing organisms and less able to fight them off.
2.Besides no brainer infection risks, tattoos casuse body trama. That’s the reason people with some conditions can’t get one. It seems weird, but it’s true. Even one a normal healthy person it causes trama and you can feel that all over your body. That’s why when you get a big one you get so tired and worn out.
3.Besides the reasons science_geek gave, it’s also to cover the tattoo artist’s ass. In the very unlikely case that the tattoo causes problems for the mother or fetus, the artist could be liable for damages. There are places where you can be charged with endangering a fetus, and it would be assumed that a tattoo artist should be more aware of the risks than the client.
4.It’s also the fact that the toxins from the ink can cause the baby harm while in utero. Think about it…it’s ink going into not only your system but the child’s as well. Be responsible and wait …it’s only a 9 month period.
