Are henna tattoos safe for a children’s party?

Henna is a plant. Dried leaves are ground into a powder and made into a paste to dye or treat things (hair, skin, cloth), or to use as paint.

Henna tattoos are obviously not permanent.I got one this past spring break and i loved it. It stays on for about 2 weeks and doesnt leave a mark when it finally rubs off.

I’m a henna artist, and to tell you the truth, i awlays hesistate to do henna on kids. They usually mess it up in a few minutes by rubbing it on some expensive item, especially clothes (henna stains never come out of fabric or wood, but are temporary on skin). Then their parents are mad about the stain, the kid wants their henna redone (which is a waste of time and henna for me), and to top it off, the kid could be allergic to henna, which is rare, but can happen. Doctors scarcely test for allergy to henna, so the parents and kid won’t know but they’ll still want a tattoo. So, I would only recommend henna for a children’s party if you are 100% sure they can handle themselves and not make a mess.
