42nd Airborne boys getting a matching tattoo on their right arm

I personally do NOT understand the people that wake up one morning and say “Hm… I think I’ll allow a stranger to drill a generic design into my flesh with a high-powered needle. I will choose this generic design from a book comprised of generic designs most favoured by those with similar urges as mine.”
However, I can certainly understand the 42nd Airborne (or whatever) boys getting a matching tattoo on their right arm after coming home from the War. I can understand Arisztid’s desire to proclaim his heritage proudly. I can even understand my husband’s ridiculously huge band logo on his back, since he put over 15 years of his life into the band.
